Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema was named for the second consecutive year, the French players.
Benzema is a recognition on the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium gave the former French international player Zinedine Zidane."It is an honor to get the award from Zidane, who is for me the best French player of all time," said the 24-year old striker.  Benzema has won the award, which is traditionally awarded to France Football magazine, ahead of players Frank Ribery of Bayern Munich and Tottenham keeper Hugo Loris. The poll involved former winners, including Zidane. Former soccerplaters Lyons scored 21 goals last season in La Liga, helping Real to reach the Spanish league title, as well as seven goals in the Champions League, where they lost in the semifinals Madridians of Bayern.  This season, Benzema is only three times entered on the score sheet, but he missed the last match against Espanyol due to problems with a foot injury.
