Strahinja Pavlović after arriving in Milan: I am ready for everything that is asked of me.08.08.2024 news and highlights


The Serbian representative, Strahinja Pavlović, was officially presented as a new football player of Milan. The club from "San Siro" showed our stopper through a comparison with Jap Stam, and thus put the burden of great pressure, but also a flattering label, on the shoulders of the former Partizan Belgrade player.



Strahinja gave a short interview on the "Rosoneri" YouTube channel on his move to Milan. To begin with, he explained the meaning of his name in the Serbian language.

"Strahinja means 'without fear'. I love my name, I think it describes me well," said the former Salzburg defender proudly.Then he touched the big stoppers wearing the AC Milan club jersey.

And when it comes to looking for role models and idols among Serbs, there was no dilemma as to who our representative would choose. "For me, it's Vidić. He was an extremely strong stopper, that was his style. I watched him when I was younger, always followed him. He is my inspiration." At one time he played with Noah Okafor in the Salzburg jersey against Milan, now he has reunited with his former teammate in Serie A. "I will never forget the moment when I entered the warm-up. It was a hot atmosphere. The fans were singing the famous song 'Sara perche ti amo'. And I, as an opponent, enjoyed the atmosphere." Finally, he wanted to refrain from commenting on the football style of new coach Paulo Fonseca. "We'll see. I'm ready to fight and do what the coach expects from me. I'm ready for everything that's asked of me." As a reminder, Strahinja Pavlović played for Partizan Belgrade, Monaco, Circle Bruges, and Salzburg in his career. He came to Milan after lengthy negotiations for 18 million euros, with possible bonuses of two million. He signed a five-year contract worth 1.5 million euros per season at San Siro. This summer, he was perhaps the best player of the Serbian national team at the European Championship in Germany.
