In the eighth minute Moussa Demble flew down the right wing and crossed to Ari Ferreira, whose low shot was safely gathered by waiting Excelsior goalkeeper Ronald Graafland. Five minutes later Ferreira had another chance, this time shooting over the crossbar after another Demble set-up.
